Tribute to Sonny
The images you see here are of Sonny (and myself). Sonny passed over in January 2021, aged approximately 14.5 years. He came to me at around one year old with several behavioural issues and he was entirely devoted to me for the rest of his life. It was a joy to be with him as he settled and became more steady, but also confirming of the cyclical nature of life, in that we faced many challenges along the way. He was always a reflection of myself and he led me to many realisations about dogs and life – about love, patience and trust. We euthanised him at home, on his own bed, licking pate from his lickimat, and we buried him the next day and planted an oak tree nearby. And once I’d processed his passing somewhat, I knew that I wanted to help other pets to pass over at home, and support more guardians with this, and for clients to have total freedom of choice and transparency with regards to aftercare.
